In 1963, the poet Rodrigo Machado, along with four other guerrillas, crossed the Amazon jungle on a risky mission to obtain supplies. Inspired by the last days of the poet Javier Heraud, El Río explores the fine line between reality and fantasy, as he fights in his desperate quest to survive nature on this transformative and spiritual journey.
